The introduction of the International Ship and Port Security code (ISPS) and Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) on November 25th 2002, meant that in a very short time, shipping companies were required to meet detailed security criteria on all vessels and facilities. By the first quarter of 2003, Securewest International had already established a dedicated ISPS and training department in Norfolk, Virginia and delivered the first Vessel Security Assessments (VSA) and Vessel Security Plans (VSP).
The company now offers ISPS related services from all its offices around the world including the United Kingdom and Singapore.
Securewest International is uniquely qualified to deliver Audits, Drills and Exercises as mandated by appropriate flag state authorities.
MTSA Security Exercises must be completed within 18 months of your Security Plan approval. To find out more please contact your nearest Securewest International office or email info@securewest.com
The installation of SSAS hardware requires either details to be recorded in the SSP or a detailed and specific Annex to the Ships Security Plan. To ensure continued compliance contact us today for Annexes that meet US Coastguard and other Administration's specification.
Annexes provide a secure and flexible method to record SSAS details and procedures and are accepted by most Administrations.
As part of Securewest International's omprehensive maritime Regulatory and Compliance service a SOLAS compliant and flag authority approved (including the UK MCA) Ship Security Alert System management and monitoring service is available through the unique and dedicated Maritime Assistance Center
