Travel Risk

Securewest offers bespoke training solutions delivered online, at your premises or offsite. Our courses are aimed at groups of travellers, individuals travelling to high-risk destinations or persons responsible for booking travel.

Medical

We have a 3-tier approach to our medical training:

Basic – First Aid at Work NVQ Level 3 accredited by Pearson
Intermediate – First Response Emergency Care Level 3 (FREC3) accredited by Qualsafe
Enhanced – First Person on Scene Level 4 (FPOS) accredited by Pearson

These courses are all approved by ELCAS and can be taken as a standalone or combined with another course.

ISPS Courses

We deliver International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) Code courses including Company Security Officer, Port Facility Security Officer and Ship Security Officer either at our training centre in the UK, at your premises or off-site.

We have e-learning courses for Proficiency in Designated Security Duties and Proficiency in Security Awareness which can be taken solely online without the need to visit an assessment centre.

Securewest is also able to assist clients with a range of consultancy services related to the ISPS Code including our ISPS ship security assessment and plan services. For more information see our maritime services.

Seafarers Safety Training – STCW10

For persons working onboard vessels over 24 metres in length you’ll require an up to date Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping (STCW) 2010 Certificate. We are a Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) approved provider of Seafarers Basic Safety Training STCW10 and refresher courses. These courses cover modules such as Personal Safety & Responsibility, Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting, Personal Survival Techniques, Elementary First Aid and Proficiency in Security Awareness.

Close Protection

We run Close Protection courses, either at our training centre in the UK or working with our international partners which provide a complete package of Close Protection skills through classroom and practical training, surveillance, threat assessments, vehicle techniques and IED awareness training. These rigorous courses will give you the skills and qualification to apply for your Security Industry Authority (SIA) licence.

Health and Safety

Our Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (IOSH) Managing Safely and Working Safely courses cover the essentials of health and safety in the workplace. They are aimed at employees and managers in all types of organisations and look at people’s responsibilities for health and safety, and workplace hazards and risks, and how to control them.

Upon successful completion of the courses and assessments, attendees are awarded a Managing or Working Safely certificate from IOSH – the world’s largest health and safety membership organisation.

We also run Manual Handling and First Aid at work courses.
