The Securewest International Maritime Assistance Centre (MAC) recorded 15 maritime-related incidents during the reporting period of 05 May – 11 May 2026. The following incidents were recorded:
- 05-MAY-26 Attack – Unidentified cargo vessel attacked in the Strait of Hormuz.
- 06-MAY-26 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 20 migrants rescued off the coast of Aydın, Turkey.
- 06-MAY-26 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 19 migrants and one smuggling suspect apprehended off the coast of Çanakkale, Turkey.
- 06-MAY-26 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 43 migrants and one smuggling suspect apprehended off the coast of İzmir, Turkey.
- 07-MAY-26 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 35 migrants intercepted off the coast of Aydın, Turkey.
- 08-MAY-26 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 70 migrants intercepted crossing the English Channel.
- 08-MAY-26 Pirate Attack Group – Pirate Action Group reportedly preparing to attempt to hijack MV offshore Somalia.
- 08-MAY-26 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 32 irregular migrants apprehended off the coast of Izmir, Turkey.
- 09-MAY-26 Robbery – Yacht GREAT HABIT stolen from anchorage near Frigate Island, St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
- 09-MAY-26 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 29 irregular migrants apprehended off the coast of Izmir, Turkey.
- 09-MAY-26 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 196 migrants intercepted crossing the English Channel.
- 10-MAY-26 Attack – Unidentified Bulk Carrier attacked 23nm NE of Doha, Qatar
- 10-MAY-26 Migrant&RefugeeIncident– 25 migrants apprehended off the coast of Izmir, Turkey.
- 11-MAY-26 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 14 migrants feared drowned off the western coast of Malaysia.
