Weekly Maritime Incident Summary 26 May – 01 June 2026

The Securewest International Maritime Assistance Centre (MAC) recorded 19 maritime-related incidents during the reporting period of 26 May – 01 June 2026. The following incidents were recorded:

  • 26-MAY-26 Drugs Interdiction – Drug smugglers intercepted off the Seychelles, Indian Ocean.
  • 26-MAY-26 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 139 migrants intercepted in the English Channel.
  • 26-MAY-26 Attack – Underway tanker OLYMPIC LIFE attacked 60nm east of Muscat, Oman
  • 27-MAY-26 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 74 migrants intercepted in the English Channel.
  • 28-MAY-26 Drugs Interdiction – Over 200kg of cocaine intercepted in Port of L.A., USA.
  • 28-MAY-26 Boarding – Offshore supply vessel GH ATLANTIS boarded at Abidjan Inner Anchorage, Ivory Coast.
  • 28-MAY-26 Attack – Multiple underway tankers targeted in the Black Sea.
  • 28-MAY-26 Robbery – Dinghies stolen from Trellis Bay, Tortola.
  • 28-MAY-26 Drugs Interdiction – 115kg of cocaine intercepted near Mundra Port, India.
  • 29-MAY-26 Drugs Interdiction – Suspected drug smuggling vessel destroyed in Eastern Pacific Ocean.
  • 29-MAY-26 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 128 migrants intercepted in the English Channel.
  • 29-MAY-26 Attack – Underway cargo vessel ANT attacked in the Black Sea.
  • 30-MAY-26 Robbery – Motor yacht robbed whilst at anchor in Marigot, Saint Lucia.
  • 30-MAY-26 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 223 migrants intercepted in the English Channel.
  • 30-MAY-26 General Security Warning – Suspected naval mine located in the Strait of Hormuz.
  • 31-MAY-26 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 13 migrants cross the English Channel.
  • 31-MAY-26 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 31 migrants apprehend off the coast of Mugla, Turkey.
  • 31-MAY-26 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 30 migrants rescued off the coast of Izmir, Turkey.
  • 01-JUN-26 Attack – Cargo vessel attacked while underway 40nm SE of Umm Qasr, Iraq
