Weekly Maritime Incident Summary 09 – 15 December 2025

The Securewest International Maritime Assistance Centre (MAC) recorded 16 maritime-related incidents during the reporting period of 09 – 15 December 2025. The following incidents were recorded:

  • 09-DEC-25 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 327 migrants rescued off the Canary Islands, Spain.
  • 09-DEC-25 Robbery – Dinghy stolen from Linton Bay, Panama.
  • 10-DEC-25 General Security Warning – U.S. Forces seize oil tanker off Venezuela, South America.
  • 10-DEC-25 Attack – Russian tanker DASHAN attacked by unmanned explosive boats in the Black Sea.
  • 10-DEC-25 Drugs Interdiction – Drug smuggling vessel intercepted off British Virgin Islands, Caribbean Sea.
  • 12-DEC-25 Drugs Interdiction – 138 kilos of cocaine intercepted in the port of Civitavecchia, Italy.
  • 12-DEC-25 Drugs Interdiction – Over 1.2 tons of drugs seized in Apapa Port, Lagos, Nigeria.
  • 12-DEC-25 Attack – Turkish vessels damaged in strikes on Ukrainian ports of Chornomorsk and Odesa.
  • 12-DEC-25 Drugs Interdiction – Over 2.3 tons of cocaine intercepted in the Caribbean Sea.
  • 12-DEC-25 Migrant & Refuge Incident – 737 migrants detected in the English Channel.
  • 12-DEC-25 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 16 migrants were rescued, off the coast of Muğla, Turkey.
  • 13-DEC-25 Drugs Interdiction – Drug smuggling vessel intercepted off Gadani, Pakistan.
  • 14-DEC-25 Boarding – Bulk carrier boarded in Philip Channel, Singapore.
  • 14-DEC-25 Migrant & Refugee Incident- 52 migrants intercepted in the English Channel.
  • 14-DEC-25 Migrant & Refugee Incident – 65 migrants rescued off the coast of Izmir, Turkey.
  • 15-DEC-25 Boarding –MV boarded at anchorage, Luanda, Angola.
