The Securewest International Global Response Centre (GRC) recorded 17 maritime related incidents during the reporting period of 07 March – 13 March 2023. The following incidents were recorded:
- 07-MAR-23 – Drugs Interdiction – Pakistan navy seized 280kg of methamphetamine in Arabian Sea.
- 08-MAR-23 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – Vessel carrying 202 migrants intercepted by police in Turks and Caicos.
- 08-MAR-23 – Drugs Interdiction – 55 kilos of cocaine seized from a bulk carrier by HM Customs, Gibraltar.
- 09-MAR-23 – Robbery – Bulk carrier boarded and robbed at Callao Anchorage, Peru.
- 09-MAR-23 – Drugs Interdiction – Over one tonne of heroin seized from vessel on French-Seychellois area.
- 09-MAR-23 – Boarding – Barge boarded in Singapore Strait.
- 10-MAR-23 – Robbery – Theft of dinghy from a yacht in Sint Maarten.
- 10-MAR-23 – Boarding – Bulk carrier boarded in Singapore Strait.
- 10-MAR-23 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – 54 migrants rescued in the Mediterranean Sea off Tunisia.
- 10-MAR-23 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – Over 1300 migrants land in Lampedusa, Italy.
- 11-MAR-23 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – Migrant boat sinks off Farmakonisi Island, Turkey.
- 11-MAR-23 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – 22 migrants die In boat sinking off Madagascar.
