Weekly Maritime Summary 25 – 31 May 2020

The Securewest International Global Response Centre (GRC) recorded two maritime related incidents during the reporting period of 25-31 May 2020.

Maritime Weekly Incidents

  • 25 May 20 – Boarding – at 05:02 UTC, a container ship was boarded approximately 4 nm W of the Port of Banana, DRC. The intruders fled in a small boat after the alarm was raised.
  • 26 May 20 – Migrant and Refugee – Six boats and a kayak carrying 80 migrants have been intercepted in the English Channel off the Kent coast.

Boarding IncidentBoarding: Unauthorized boarding of a vessel by persons not part of its complement without successfully taking control of the vessel.
