The Securewest International Maritime Assistance Centre (MAC) recorded 16 maritime-related incidents during the reporting period of 30 December 2025 – 05 January 2026. The following incidents were recorded:
- 30-DEC-25 Migrant and Refugee Incident – 18 migrants were apprehended off the coast of Canakkale, Turkey.
- 30-DEC-25 Attack – Attack conducted at Al Mukalla port, Yemen, Gulf of Aden.
- 30-DEC-25 Kidnapping – Eight passengers abducted on the Ikang waterways, Nigeria.
- 31-DEC-25 Migrant and Refugee Incident – 74 migrants apprehended off the coast of Izmir, Turkey.
- 31-DEC-25 General Security Warning – Russian cargo vessel FITBURG detained off Finland.
- 31-DEC-25 General Security Warning – Five killed in US strikes on suspected ‘narco-vessels’ in the eastern Pacific.
- 31-DEC-25 Migrant and Refugee Incident – 74 migrants intercepted off the coast of Izmir, Turkey.
- 31-DEC-25 Robbery – Yacht robbed at Fort de France, Martinique.
- 01-JAN-26 Robbery – Fishing vessel robbed west of Inani Beach, Bangladesh.
- 01-JAN-26 Robbery – Anchored yacht robbed in Admirality Bay, Bequia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines.
- 01-JAN-26 Migrant and Refugee Incident – 74 migrants apprehended off the coast of Izmir, Turkey.
- 01-JAN-26 Hijacking – Fishing vessel LIAO DONG YU 578 hijacked off Puntland, Somalia.
- 01-JAN-26 Migrant and Refugee Incident – 96 migrants rescued after migrant boat capsizes off Gambia.
- 02-JAN-26 Drugs Interdiction – Over 30 kilos of cocaine discovered on MV ARUNA in Apapa, Nigeria.
- 03-JAN-26 Hijacking – Sailing dhow MV SULTANA 2 hijacked off Al Mukalla, Yemen.
- 03-JAN-26 Robbery – Catamaran robbed in Rodney Bay, St. Lucia.
