Weekly Maritime Incident Summary 06 – 12 February 2024

The Securewest International Global Response Centre (GRC) recorded 11 maritime-related
incidents during the reporting period of 06 – 12 February 2024. The following incidents were recorded:

  • 06-FEB-24 – Boarding – Underway bulk carrier MARIA-MARIA boarded in Singapore Strait.
  • 06-FEB-24 – Attack – Explosion near to MV, 50nm south of Aden, Yemen.
  • 06-FEB-24 – Attack – MV attacked by missile 57nm west of Hudaydah, Yemen.
  • 08-FEB-24 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – 42 migrants shipwrecked off Tunisia.
  • 10-FEB-24 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – 44 migrants rescued off Izmir, Turkey.
  • 10-FEB-24 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – 72 migrants rescued and detained off Mugla, Turkey.
  • 10-FEB-24 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – Greek authorities rescue 84 migrants in two separate incidents.
  • 10-FEB-24 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – 124 migrants detected crossing the English Channel.
  • 10-FEB-24 – Robbery – Center console RIB dinghy and engine robbed in Sandy Island, Grenada.
  • 11-FEB-24 – Migrant and Refugee Incident – 47 migrants detected crossing the English Channel.
  • 12-FEB-24 – Attack – Vessel attacked off Yemen.
