The Securewest International Global Response Centre (GRC) recorded 21 maritime-related
incidents during the reporting period of 23 – 29 April 2024. The following incidents were recorded:
- 23-APR-24 – Migrant & Refugee Incident – Five migrants die and 100 rescued whilst attempting to cross the English Channel.
- 23-APR-24 – Migrant & Refugee Incident – 71 migrants intercepted off the coast of Balıkesir, Turkey.
- 23-APR-24 – Migrant & Refugee Incident – 16 migrants detained off the Dominican Republic.
- 23-APR-24 – Migrant & Refugee Incident – 402 migrants intercepted by UK Border Force in the English Channel.
- 23-APR-24 – Drugs Interdiction – Authorities intercept cocaine from a vessel off Richard Bay, South Africa.
- 23-APR-24 – Drugs Interdiction – Bangladesh Coast Guard intercept concealed narcotic in Cox’s Bazar.
- 23-APR-24 – Drugs Interdiction – Cocaine seizure from bulk carrier at Ravenna, Italy.
- 23-APR-24 – Drugs Interdiction – Spanish Civil Guard intercept drug runners off Andalusian coast.
- 23-APR-24 – Migrant & Refugee Incident – 17 migrants rescued off Mugla, Turkey.
- 23-APR-24 – Migrant & Refugee Incident – 28 migrants rescued off Izmir, Turkey.

- 24-APR-24 – Attack – Container ship MAERSK YORKTOWN attacked in Gulf of Aden, 72 nm ESE of Djibouti Port.
- 24-APR-24 – Attack – Container ship MSC DARWIN VI attacked in Gulf of Aden, 15 nm SW of Aden, Yemen.
- 24-APR-24 – Attack – Anti-ship ballistic missile intercepted by coalition warship in Gulf of Aden.
- 26-APR-24 – Attack – Crude oil tanker ANDROMEDA STAR attacked in Red Sea.
- 26-APR-24 – Suspicious Approach – Merchant vessel approached 177 nm SE of Nishtun, Yemen.
- 26-APR-24 – Migrant & Refugee Incident – 141 migrants intercepted in English Channel.
- 27-APR-24 – Migrant & Refugee Incident – 359 migrants intercepted in English Channel.
- 28-APR-24 – Drugs Interdiction – Indian Coast Guard intercept drug smugglers off Gujarat coast.
- 29-APR-24 – Attack – MV attacked in Rea Sea, 54 nm northwest of Al Mukha, Yemen.
