Weekly Maritime Incident Summary 30 May – 5 June 2023

The Securewest International Global Response Centre (GRC) recorded 10 maritime related
incidents during the reporting period of 30 May – 5 June 2023. The following incidents were
recorded:

  • 30-MAY-23: General Security Warning – Live firing exercise offshore Gwandar, Pakistan.
  • 31-MAY-23: Drugs Interdiction – US Coastguard Cutter seizes 200kg of drugs offshore Oman.
  • 31-MAY-23: Migrant and Refugee Incident – 600 migrants land ashore in Bari, Italy.
  • 01-JUN-23: Drugs Interdiction – Authorities seize cocaine in Western Australia.
  • 01-JUN-23: Drugs Interdiction – French Frigate seizes 2 tons of hashish off coast of Oman.
  • 01-JUN 23: Drugs Interdiction – Colombian Navy seizes 3 tons of cocaine in South Pacific.
  • 01-JUN 23: Drugs Interdiction – Portuguese authorities seize 1 ton of cocaine from sailing vessel.
  • 01-JUN-23: Drugs Interdiction – US Coastguard seizes 4.1M USD of cocaine in Puerto Rico.
  • 03-JUN-23: Robbery – Chemical tanker robbed at Callao Anchorage, Peru.
  • 04-JUN-23: Approach – MV approach by Iranian attack boats in Strait of Hormuz.
